- Constant context-switching that drains your time and energy
- Confusion about what to escalate, delegate, or drop altogether
Cost to the business?

Agenda
1 - Reframe the problem
Why time management isn’t enough
We’ll kick off with a quick scenario that highlights how well-intentioned “productivity” can still lead to ineffective outcomes when strategic priorities are unclear.
2 - Make Smart Tradeoffs
Use the Escalate or Educate Decision Tree
Learn a practical tool to evaluate whether to act, escalate, or educate—based on the task’s urgency, impact, and ownership. This simple decision tree brings structure to fast-paced environments.
3 - Measure What Matters
Weigh value, effort, risk, and pain
Using real-world examples, you’ll learn how to evaluate tasks against six critical factors: importance, urgency, value, cost, pain, and level of effort. You’ll see how these influence what gets done and what gets deferred.
4 - Real-World Practice
Prioritize without a perfect playbook
You’ll work through prioritization scenarios with a partner, practicing how to apply the framework and make tradeoffs, especially when you don’t have a team to delegate to or when saying “no” feels risky.
5 - Reflect & Commit
Group debrief and personal action commitments
Close the session by reflecting on what surfaced, sharing learnings with peers, and identifying one change you’ll make in how you prioritize at work. You’ll also get a prompt to bring your manager into the loop.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this virtual?
The program is built to be virtual first, delivering a Zoom experience like you’ve never experienced before. But individual sessions can be delivered in person.
Can this be tailored?
All our programs have a minimum level of customization by our team of strategy and learning consultants. We can discuss deeper customization in our discovery calls.
What audience is this best for?
We see the most success with a cross-functional audience of experienced individual contributors transitioning to leadership and new leaders.
Why the focus on problem-solving?
The core challenge of leadership is not having all the answers. It’s having the right questions. This mindset is at the heart of problem-solving. We teach new and aspiring leaders how to synthesize multiple perspectives into a strategic narrative and communicate clearly to diverse stakeholders.
