You Are Not Alone: The WiSE Origin Story with Shannon Hempel

Joining me this week is Shannon Hempel.

Shannon is the founder of EnableUp and the co-founder of Women in Sales Enablement, or WiSE.

In this conversation, I got a chance to ask Shannon about every last detail of the origin story of WiSE. For me, it was a story rich with lessons that we can apply toward enabling people.

I think you’ll find double the value in learning what this space for women in enablement is, how it started, and what its values are, then also the several lessons and takeaways that you can apply in your professional work … it’ll be a ton of fun.

Shannon and I chat about:

  • Learning communities and the importance of finding commonalities between members.
  • Capturing information formalizing the cadence of meetings.
  • The critical importance of a shared mission and values.
  • Why we should celebrate successes.
  • How to foster a sense of trust between people.
  • What good onboarding looks like for people who want to help grow the community.
  • Creating the conditions for a revenue team to be vulnerable with each other and with themselves (in a way that will help that team grow more quickly than it ever could with a top-down intervention).

If you’re in enablement and you’re worried right now about the state of the economy, the market, and/or the security of your job, take it from someone like Shannon that you’re not alone.

We’re in this together, and we can build something incredible together.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy my episode with Shannon Hempel.
